What kind of skill do I need to become a Grinder?
You don’t need any AI or software development skills.
During AI training, a lot of data (texts, images, video, etc.) needs to be labeled. Labeling enables the AI model to understand the context of the data. For example, if we want to train an AI model to recognize cats in photos, we need a lot of photos with cats, and labeling means framing the cat figures in the photos, so the AI model will be able to learn from the data.
You will need to learn how to use labeling on photos or text, but you will be able to learn it quickly on Fairgrind’s courses.
And to apply for certain projects, Grinders will need domain knowledge. If a project requires Grinders to label airplane engine parts, or estimate an illness according to symptoms, those tasks probably require specific knowledge.
How does royalty revenue work?
When an AI creator starts a new project on Fairgrind, they can decide to pay flat fees to Grinders or tokenize their AI model and pay with those tokens. The tokens in this case represent a certain stake in the AI model, and whenever the AI model generates revenues, those Grinders who own tokens of the respective project are entitled to a share of the revenue.
For example, a project creator plans an AI-based mobile app that can guess the type of plants from photos. They create 10,000 PLANT tokens, which in total represent 30% of the earnings of the mobile app. They need Grinders to label lots of plant photos with the name of the respective plant. Each Grinder who works on the training gets PLANT tokens depending on the quantity of the tasks they completed. When the training is ready, the mobile app gets launched, and in the future, all Grinders can expect royalty revenues if the app becomes successful.
